She Noticed

Today when Imogene was getting ready for school I asked her to go get ready to put her shoes on. She asked if she needed her brace, which I said yes, please. And she didn't fuss at all. And when we were putting it on she looked at me and said, "Everybody not wear brace at school." Her face wasn't sad or upset, and it wasn't happy or proud either. It was just the announcement that she knew it wasn't the same for other kids. I was sure to tell her that she was so, so special to everyone and the brace just helped her run and jump and how special she truly is. But I cannot tell you in words how much my heart hurt with that simple little sentence. Our sweet little Imogene. Again, I know that we are blessed, but sometimes it just stinks the card she drew.

Visions of Sugar Plums

  

We took the girls to see the Nutcracker ballet today, performed by the studio where Lily takes ballet. It was really fabulous. We were all really impressed - and had such a great time. The girls both did wonderfully, even if Lily asked 1000 questions. (Which Bill says gave me an idea of what it's like to go with me to the movies.) Imogene said "I like dat movie" when it was over.

Thanksgiving 2011

We had a great trip to Columbia to have thanksgiving with naney and ryan. Except for the part where it took us over 3 hours to get to Richmond Tuesday afternoon, and a total of 9.5 hours to get to Columbia. And the last hour of that Imogene was screaming. Bill and I got to spend Wednesday night hanging out and catching up with my friends from high school. And we were all so happy to have our friends Erin & Andrew (all the way from London!) eat with us on Thursday. We'll see them again for their wedding in May in Charleston!

On the way home today Imogene was singing away on her own - old macdonald was the choice - and she stops and completely serious says, "I wanna get a dog. And a kitty kat." So funny!

Young Love...

Imogene is in preschool with the little brother of twins that were in preschool all three years with Lily. His name is Luken. They were born two weeks apart. And Imogene LOVES him. She talks about him all the time, and he is really become her 'friend.' The best part is that she says "yuken."

Halloween 2011

These are from IBS's school party (where we did not have ears in the beginng, cue very sad face. Then we had ears, cue happy face.) We also hit the Del Ray halloween parade, but this year we just watched. Still tons of fun. And then of course tonight's very fun Halloween on our wonderful street. A great weekend!!!

We're Here!

It's just been crazier than I could ever imagine our life would be. Bill has been working ALL THE TIME and just went away to Texas for 2 weeks. Fortunately he has returned, another trial win under his belt! Congratulations to Bill and all his KS friends!
So I'll just put some pictures up to make it seem less awful how long it's been since we blogged.
I promise, promise to get it back together soon.
